| FREE web site optimisation evaluation ![]() | I wanted to see just how true this claim would be so using Article Announcer I published three articles over a period of two months. | |||||||||
The first part of this review is article announcer review - worth the investment ? Over a two month period the average number of pages listed on Google for the three articles was 1,794. Yahoo reported an average of 534 pages and MSN 1,547 pages. The average exposure over the three major search engines was therefore 1,292 pages that featured these three articles. The total number of unique visitors received from these three articles featured on an average 1,292 other web pages over a 6 week period was 20. To quote the Article Announcer claim, this is hardly an unstoppable stampede of new traffic. A second claim made for Article Announcer is that it will "Boost Your Search Engine Rankings, Link Popularity, And Get ALL The Traffic You Want, Whenever You Want -- Nearly Automatically..." Getting all the traffic you want is clearly an overstated claim as my experience shows with Google, Yahoo and MSN.
The three articles generated a total of only 20 visitors despite Does Article Announcer improve link popularity ? After two months the back links to the site had increased to 136, an additional 49 links. Of these links two were added through reciprocal linking. Of course it's not AA that's providing the increase in back links but the fact that articles are being featured on other web sites. But clearly one can not expect the number of back links to be directly related to the number of web pages in the search results. Yahoo and MSN are widely regarded as being the most accurate indicators of back links to a web site.
So, with the lowest number of results pages for my articles With the passing of time the number of pages in the search engine results featuring these articles has reduced, primarily due to the effects of the search engines duplicate content filters. This was reported in my article " google's duplicate internet content filter in action ", In a three week period spanning the same period, the maximum drop in listings seen on Yahoo was only 14% and on MSN listings actually increased by 50.6%. Since the number of back links is a factor in determining search engine ranking the distribution of articles has increased link popularity. To what extent this will improve search engine ranking is far too complex to determine, since too many unknown factors are involved. The further claim that Article Announcer will enable you to "Obtain top ranking in the major search engines without knowing a thing about Search Engine Optimization ( SEO )" I could provide no evidence for.
Conclusion Given the significant price tag associated with Article Announcer I could not find enough merit in it to be worth the investment. Ezine Announcer the predecessor to Article Announcer does basically the same job for less money, as do other products. Note: Jason Potash has stated that the article submission features in future versions or upgrades to Ezine Announcer will be disabled. This means only versions of Ezine Announcer prior to the release of Article Announcer will have the article distribution features similar to AA. Article Announcer Ratings:
