Tracking a Targeted Visitor
![]() | It makes sense that if you spent time and money getting your targeted visitor why not learn as much as you can from them.
That's a good question and one I don't have the answer too, except to say perhaps they don't know enough about it. Well after reading this the first part of this article and this one, at least you'll hopefully have no reason to say that. Let's start with the 98% of targeted visitors who come to your website and never buy anything. Let's assume that you have good products but know the content and layout of your sales pages could be improved. First you would want to know which of your product pages the targeted visitor is attracted to the most and which pages attract the least. You might also want to know if there were any days in the week when some pages were more popular, perhaps in response to some promotional advertising or visitor trends. Without some form of tracking software installed on your website it's virtually impossible for you to get these answers, until that is Click Watch ™. Click Watch ™ is the most effective targeted visitor tracking system I have seen in a long time. It enables you to track pages views, links clicked, Adsense Ad Blocks clicked and many other important results and display them in an easy to read visual report.
The report shows you exactly which web pages are viewed on what days. That's not only on the website where the script is installed, but on any of your websites on different domains and on different web hosting providers. This means you can track all your web pages on any of your websites and view them all from one location in one central report and in real time. This is exactly what you need to be able to work out which are your best and worst performing pages. To start tracking your web page visitors all you do is upload a few script files to your web server and place a small line of code into each page you want to track. Don't worry if you haven't installed scripts before, the documentation with Click Watch ™ is among the best I've seen and if you get stuck help is always available. Once you point your browser at the Click Watch ™ control Panel and login, you will immediately see the URL names of any pages that have been clicked.
Click Watch ™ can be setup to ignore your own browser clicks Within the control panel pages can be checked to be included in the onscreen report or excluded. You can also view reports for today, yesterday, 2 days ago, this month, last month, or any date range you want to specify. Click Watch ™ also has options to show Browsers used ( over 50 types are recognised ), Visitor Time Zones, Returns after Clicking Away, Links Clicked and Adsense Ad Blocks Clicked, as well as provide Printer Friendly Reports. The tracking database which is a flat file tab-delimited format (No MySQL required) can also be imported to a spreadsheet for further analysis. Report statistics are shown in numerical form with a horizontal bar graph for each page or link result. Various filter options are also available if required, to remove unwanted elements from the report.
Although one aspect that's reported you may be lucky enough to get from your hosting web stats, like type of browser used, you certainly won't get reports on over 50 types as you do with Click Watch ™. Knowing what browsers your visitors are using also helps you to optimize you site for the most used one. Right now that tends to be still Internet Explorer in all its forms, but that could change if other browsers like Firefox become more popular. Hosting Web Stats don't give the detail provided by Click Watch ™ for pages viewed or links clicked and certainly don't give you any reports on Adsense Ad Blocks clicked.
With Click Watch ™ you can discover which of your web pages get the most visitors or the least, on any day or over any period you choose. Using this information you can set about making controlled changes to a web page. Controlled changes mean basically not changing more than one thing on a page at a time or you'll never know which of your changes had the desired or undesirable effect.
With Click Watch ™ always monitoring the results, you'll be able to tell whether the changes you make produce more visitors to any page you choose. These changes could be to the content, the layout or the navigation to the page. If you have low visitors to a page it may not be because the page is of no interest. It could be that a targeted visitor can't find it. If you add a link from your home page and you get far more page views, you'll know your navigation to the page needs improving. This is exactly what you want to be able to do.
An important feature for those website owners using Google Adsense This enables you to know when your Adsense Ads are clicked on. By using the report filters you can determine which Adsense Block on which web page was clicked by a targeted visitor on any of your websites. Knowing which Adsense Ads are getting clicked the most, you could create similar content pages for which the same or similar Ads would be shown by Google. More pages with high earning, high click through Ads, means more revenue for you.
With Click Watch ™ you'll be able to discover which out of all your Adsense Ads are Generating Revenue across All Your Websites. You don't need to install Click Watch™ on each of your websites to start targeted visitor tracking. It will monitor all your websites just by being installed on one domain. That means all your tracking reports are centralized, which makes life easier for you. You also Save Money by not having to acquire a separate copy of Click Watch ™ for each website on which you want to start targeted visitor tracking. Yes, the software is protected and will only work on the domain you register it for. You can change the domain at any time by changing your registration details online, but you can't use the same copy of the script on different domains. Installation is Free on the domain for which Click Watch™ is purchased.
Having dealt with targeted visitor tracking for 98% of visitors to a website we should not forget about the other 2% who make a purchase. You can gain your most valuable information from buyers.
